PROFESSIONAL BIO

Lisa Peterson Dunlap is a communication professional who delivers solutions in public relations, marketing communication, graphic design and training.

Before forming Corporate Encounters, she secured national media placements, designed print collateral, coordinated events, wrote copy, created style guides and developed strategic communication plans for an advertising agency, a corporate communication department, a publishing company and a top-100 public relations firm.

Industries of record include pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services,
non-profits, higher education, sports, recreation and tourism.

Previously, she developed and delivered courses in public relations planning, business communication, advertising design and desktop publishing for the University of North Carolina and Alamance Community College
.

Software proficiency includes Acrobat, Excel, GoLive, Illustrator, PhotoShop, PowerPoint and Word. Although she prefers working in a Macintosh environment, she can also excel in a PC environment.


Lisa earned a bachelor's degree in design from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in public relations from the University of Louisiana while competing in NCAA Division I fastpitch softball first as an athlete and then as a coach.

As a Division I pitcher, she earned a full athletic scholarship, set 14 school records and competed abroad. As a Division I assistant coach, she managed training programs that led to a national championship and directed sports camps in the USA, Italy and Peru.

In 2006, she founded the Rockford Tennis Community Tennis Association to pursue the mission of developing a vibrant tennis community for Rockford area adults who enjoy the competitive and social aspects of the game. Indoors. Outdoors. All year through.

In three years with no funding, facilities or staff, she grew membership to 250+, offered year-round singles and doubles leagues and created a series of one-day events while managing member communication and RockfordTennis.com.

Additional work with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) includes presenting a tennis curriculum to K-12 physical education teachers throughout northern Illinois and serving as a secretary and a director at large for the Northern Illinois Community Tennis Association.
